Knock, Knock...
Your March recap here at Culture Yap is here! Join me as I unpack FLO's new single, Ready or Not: Here I Come, and Zara Larsson's Midnight Sun Tour!
Welcome back to Culture Yap with Layla B-C!
April may be here, but there will be no more jokes here. I finally plan to debrief March as I continue to adjust to a new part-time job, juggle freelance gigs, and keep tabs on all of the social bookings in my calendar. Without further ado, here is my March unwrapped!:
The Culture Edit: U.S. Launches Airstrikes Against Iran

In March, the United States, in coordination with Israel, launched major military strikes against Iran on February 28. This marked the start of what is snowballing into a far-reaching and open-ended war. According to Vox, President Trump went forward with the operation in order to “eliminate an “imminent threat,” destroy Iran’s missile and naval forces, and ultimately encourage Iranians to overthrow their government.
Since the war’s start, Iran has since responded with missile attacks on US, Israeli, and allied targets across the regions.
What do I have to say though? Welcome back to 2003!
Now Playing: Leak It by FLO
As 2026 progresses, the releases have been either a hit or miss for me as I’ve found myself loving certain single and album releases or not.
One thing that has been a hit for me, however, has been FLO’s release of “Leak It.”
“Leak It” has been the first single from the trio coming off their AAA ventures and has singlehandedly thrust the trio into a new era for their sophomore release. The single is brimming with all the elements of pop music fans love the most — catchy lyricism, an unforgettable beat, and a dance that is taking over social media as we speak. If you haven’t heard “Leak It” yet, it’s truly a gem to listen to that has stayed on repeat for me since its release.
Latest Screens: Ready or Not 2 - Here I Come
From all the releases I have been excited for in March, I did manage to catch one of the releases I looked forward to. I did have the pleasure of screening “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come.”
The sequel builds off of the events of “Ready or Not,” where Grace marries the man of her dreams but is thrust into a deadly game of Ready or Not as she is hunted by her new in-laws and must survive against the hunters.
“Ready or Not: Here I Come” picks up at the ending sequences of “Ready or Not.” However, this time, Grace and her younger sister, Faith, are forced to participate in a sudden death round of Ready or Not against a satanic cult of wealthy families and must survive against all the hunters.
Ready or Not: Here I Come is a solid follow-up sequel to the chaos the unfolds in Ready or Not and leans more into the occult world that Grace has been entangled into after her marriage in the first movie.
There were many spiritual aspects as a Christian I caught in the movie, particularly the names of the characters — Grace and Faith — fighting against a greater evil, The Devil and the typical sins that we’re warned about such as greed.
There are also other narratives here to me that further look into class, thinking of the current period we’re in now where the lower middle class and middle class are struggling to make ends meet while the rich are indulging in all of their pleasures both good and evil alike.
Needless to say, despite these themes I saw throughout the film, it was an entertaining watch, but you can wait for this one to hit streaming platforms. In the meantime, I look forward to screening the rest of the films I wanted to see in April, so stay tuned!
The Aftershow: Zara Larsson’s Midnight Sun Tour
In March, I also had the pleasure of attending Zara Larsson’s Midnight Sun Tour. “Midnight Sun” was one of my favorite albums from last year, and I always love the opportunity to see my favorite albums performed. Larsson’s performance was electric, and the woman managed to bring the notable dolphin meme within the walls of the Riviera Theatre.
One of the more notable features of her set was the remix of her and Sexxy Red’s songs of the same name, “Ain’t My Fault,” and other covers throughout her lineup of her more popular tracks — past and present — for the whole set.
After the concert, I can say that Zara Larsson has successfully managed to re-enter my rotation with her latest and past releases. If you have a chance to catch her, I recommend it.
